After the wonderful Engagement-Sangeet Evening, the next day started a bit late. The best part of having all the functions on the following days was we got enough time to spend with the families to relax and rejoice. The Haldi Ceremony was on the home ground, so there was no pressure of timing. Having both the ceremonies on the weekend, even the guests were at ease. Since it was at respective houses, the guests were more comfortable to enjoy in their own time and space. While we knew we would be having fun on the Haldi night, we really didn’t expect the Haldi to convert into real Pawri!!!!!
According to their rituals, they apply haldi 5 times in the day after certain intervals. So they followed their rituals. It was such a heartwarming time. Everyone at her place were really emotional and it's bound to happen. Minal being the eldest of the grandchildren and also the Ladli of all, she was enjoying all the pampering. Post the Haldi Ceremony all the guests were so energised that the function extended till 4 am with everyone singing, dancing, creating wonderful memories together.

At my place we had a small Haldi Ceremony followed by the ceremony extending on the building terrace. In our rituals we apply Haldi only once at a particular time after we do a ritual called as muhurta medh. Soon the Haldi Ceremony got converted to Haldi Pawri. After everyone applied Haldi to me, or I should say after giving me a Haldi Bath :D everyone let themselves loose over the cocktails and dinner.

If you would ask me which was the most amazing moment from all the wedding ceremonies, I would say it was this night. I had always imagined to have a grand haldi ceremony and this happened more than what I imagined it to be. In true sense Mahol ban gaya tha! There is a saying in Marathi, “Sagle aksharsha sutle hote ekdum”. I just can’t translate this but I think you would get the emotions.

While the family members went to sleep around 12:00 the friends and cousins were up till 2:00 am. After letting ourselves loose with the dancing we ended the night with wonderful conversations and jamming. All of it was possible only because, the next day there was no major ceremony. The wedding was supposed to be the day after.
We really wanted this time to rejuvenate. After all the hustle of wedding preparations, flights over silly things, running for all the arrangements, this was the time to relax and really enjoy the day for which all the efforts were put together. And yes, it was all worth it. It was not just a ceremony, it became a celebration in a real sense.
Coming back to senses from the hangover of last night, not of the drink but of the moments, we were all set for the Big Day!
