The Day! याज साठी केला होता अट्टाहास :D Finally the day arrived. When you have all the ceremonies aligned back to back, the wedding ceremony feels like the last lap. I am pretty sure most of the couple have this feeling होऊन जाऊदे एकदाचं! But to be very honest, it does feel like the most special day of your life.
No matter how many years you have dated, no matter if it's a love marriage or an arranged marriage, when you see your partner walking towards you in wedding attire you tend to go in the seventh cloud. Quite evident in our eyes, isn’t it?

Since we come from different cultures, we discussed a lot in detail. If you see on a broader level, even if the cultures are different the essence of most of the ceremonies are the same. It's just the different religious practices region-wise. I had heard about how weddings become chaotic when the cultures are different, and we wanted to make it as smooth as possible for both the families. Hence we made sure to discuss and decide it prehand the entire flow of the wedding, which would suffice the main part of the wedding practices in both the cultures.
All the rituals happened smoothly and most importantly it was bang on time. It took us some time to register that, “Are ho bhi gaya shaadi!” :D It was a relaxing feeling.

The day went so quick that we didn’t even realise it. The wedding was followed by reception and like every wedding, our jaws started paining after smiling constantly at the camera :D But we felt really happy to see all the loved ones making it to the wedding even though it was a weekday. Meeting them for the 2 mins on the stage was also good enough to create a memory of that day with them.

Finally the #SuMi got the bluetick and we got ‘officially’ married :D The feeling of walking the aisle holding hands, while everyone is clapping out of love and joy for us, is just mesmerising. We could literally see in the eyes of everyone how happy they were for us and were blessing us for the bright future ahead. That itself made us understand, this is the feeling which you would not get in a court marriage. All the hustle, all the fights, all the arrangements started to seem worth it looking at the eyes full of happiness of our close ones.
The only difficult part was to see the entire family of Minal getting emotional during the Bidaai. No matter how hard they tried to control it came out naturally and all I could do was just give them a hug and make them feel comfortable.

As my dearest friend Indraneel Shelar drove us home, he surprised us with a small gift. He had created a special playlist of our favourite song and he played it all along the journey. He also gave us a special card as a boarding pass which had a very special message curated for us. It felt complete, it felt emotional.

The wedding is all about these special moments with your close ones. The chaos, the flights, the hustle will be forgotten with the memories of these heartfelt moments. Also these moments were so brilliantly captured by our friend photographer Hitesh Shetty and his team. We would always be thankful to them for documenting the most special days of our lives so beautifully.
#SuMi Forever.
