The hunt for the venues began and that was the fun part. By visiting most of the venues in our vicinity, Minal and I registered our name for the date so that if they get any other inquiry, they would first confirm it from us. We used to joke about it that other couples looking for venues for the same date are going to find us some day and tell us, “Koi toh Venue humare liye bhi chod do :D”. Since it was supposed to be back to back events in 4 days we looked for the suitable options and finalised them.
A small Roka-Tilak Ceremony took place with only the immediate family members, so we can also proceed with the shopping and other preparations. Here onwards the to-do lists and the real run began :D
More than what I am going to wear, I was more concerned about the Wedding Invites... Well isn’t it obvious of me? :D I had something very specific in mind and I literally went places to get the papers, stamps and a few more things. I wanted to make it special so I was prepared to do whatever it takes. While I printed the wedding insert, the rest of it was entirely handmade. Here’s a glimpse of it..
Like design has been my thing, fashion and clothing have always been Minal’s thing, so I had left that department to her :D We first completed Minal’s shopping as she had something particular in mind and had also saved a lot of references. Once that was done, we completed my shopping complementing her outfits. That made it easier for me. It took literally just 3 days to complete my shopping. You can take this as a Pro Tip :D We were more than happy with our shopping as it was something unique at a great price. (You must have seen it in the photos already.)
With the distribution of Wedding cards, Family Shopping, Planning and Managing Logistics, Deciding who is going to do what, there comes the fights at home for silliest of the silly things. I am pretty sure it happens at every place. The chaos reaches to the level where you start feeling, “Court marriage hi karna chahiye tha.” Both of our families were no exceptions to this wonderful tradition. And everytime it settles down with one big belief, Keep Calm, Sab Thik Ho Jayega!

As the days started coming closer, the to-do list started getting tick marks and eventually all the runs started feeling worth it. The chaos brings the family closer.
In all this chaos the best thing that happens in maharashtrian tradition before the wedding, where you forget all the tasks, tensions and be the star of the day, getting all the laad, pyaar and paparazzi. Can you guess what is it?
Yes, Kelvan!
