Kelvan is basically a tradition or practice to invite the groom/bride to be with family for a meal at your place and feed them with their favourite food items. These were the days when the extended family, close ones and family friends showered their love. It was not just the meal but so much of an effort put just to make my day special. Since Minal is originally from MP, they don't have this tradition but since she was born and brought up here, even some of her close family friends invited her for kelvan. In all the hustle of preparations this was our rejuvenation.
1) Kelvan by my Maternal Family
All my maternal relatives gathered at my Mausi’s Farmhouse in Pune. Since Covid had hit the whole world, it was a family get-together after almost 2 years. A wonderful relaxing weekend post Diwali where we got to get along and spend time talking, dancing, celebrating. It was truly an effort put wholeheartedly making our day special. Also it happened to be a relaxing vacation for us.

2) Kelvan by my close friend circle and family
Since most of my relatives stay far away, the families of my close friends have become my extended family. This was another heartwarming kelvan for me. I have a close friend group of 6 people and we are equally close to each and everyone's families. All the Mom and Dads came together and they fulfilled a wish of mine. All the Moms home cooked a special delicacy and brought it along. It was like a Potluck Lunch but with a different purpose. It was one of the most rare occasions of having our families meet and have such a good time together. It was full of affection and it really gave me goosebumps to be on the receivers end.

Along with these 2, there were more Kelvans which showered love on me and would always remain as memorable moments forever. Even Minal had some priceless moments of her Kelvan by her close ones.
